SALSA STARS OF THE WORLD

Felipe Polanco

The Mambo Magician

Felipe Polanco has long been one of Puerto Rico’s living legends and he is the most well-known representative of the Puerto Rican Style worldwide. Above all, it is his solo footwork shows that have made him famous. He is able to combine elegance, precision and swiftness in his choreographies like no other. Outside of the U.S. and Puerto Rico, he is particularly liked and appreciated in Italy as one of the best Salsa/Mambo dancers.

Felipe began to dance Salsa in the streets and clubs of Puerto Rico when he was 14 years old. Salsa, he recalls, was as popular back then as Rap and Hip Hop are today. The most important period in Felipe’s career as a dancer was his association with the "Papito Jala Jala Dancers”. With that troupe, he toured the USA and South America and also performed at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In addition to that, there were various shows with famous musicians such as Ismael Miranda, Roberto Roena, Tito Puente and Tony Vega.

Mike Ramos & Freddie Rios

Mambo Legends

Mambo Legends: This means a trips back to the New York Palladium Era of the 50s and 60s. Freddie Rios and Mike Ramos really are living legends. When you see the energy and flexibility with which they present their Cha Cha and Mambo solos it is hard to believe that they were already performing in the 50s.

Pedro Gomez

A Cuban in Rome

Hardly any other European top-notch dance instructors is on the get-go as much as Pedro Gomez. Born in Cuba, he grew up in Puerto Rico and belongs to the most popular and highly wanted Salsa instructors in Europe. Before he moved to Rome in 1996, he lived in Frankfurt and Darmstadt.
Word of his talent and ability has been passed on overseas quickly, so that he was also invited to participate in the Salsa Congress in Puerto Rico and to the Salsaweb World Convention in Toronto.

His workshops are always an unforgettable experience. Pedro Gomez unites charisma, pedagogical and didactic experience, wit and charm. He always creates attractive and well danceable combinations with his selection of turn patterns and steps. He is an entertainer and expert all at once and dances a blend of Puerto Rican and New York Style.
