Josie,
Your Teachers Course in Long Beach (May 05) was simply a wonderful life experience and wanted to thank you again for that.It ranks as one of the most enjoyable and educational experiences bar none. The wonderful dancers your course brought me in contact with from around the world were amazing. We still keep in touch so quite a bond was created. I am using using your teaching method with my current group of 25 students and they are loving it!!I already have dozens more on the waiting list for the next class. Thanks so much for such a sure fine teaching method and for helping me introduce a little "LA Style" in Chesapeake VA.Great photo of the group on the site, one of my favorites. Ciao!
- Scott

The one-week crash course with these four dedicated student-teachers were fantastic. We all had fun and experienced the ecstasy and the stresses of the dance business.
With dance technique every morning, the four of them learned the fundamentals to all Latin dance training and skills for speed, balance and styling. We also studied teaching techniques for rapid and clear learning, professionalism and organizational skills for business.
At the end of the week, each was assigned one lesson plan to teach in full and we all learned from the strengths and weaknesses of every participant.
The nervousness and the laughter were inevitable, but they all were exceptionally great teachers with their own unique style.
I wished it were longer because the week flew by so quickly. I loved working with these four because they were all very serious learners with a great sense of the dance business world. Each has gained my respect and is highly recommended by me to teach salsa in their cities.
We all had a final evening out at the Mayan Night Club in downtown Los Angeles where Lawrence Chow (owner) treated us to a VIP table with a great view of both the dance floor and the live band.
Web pages for each of the new teacher's will be up shortly.

The three weeks with the ladies were great. Every morning started out with a warm-up and technical dance exercises, then we moved on to studying the lead and follow to the set Salsa Step list. We also had business talks and goal setting on paper.
Each of the ladies had their own unique strengths and weaknesses and each of them had their own goals in what they wanted to accomplish with this course.
In the three weeks we covered the complete salsa steps list to teach a 16-week salsa course, professionalism, proper technique and training, teaching tips, choreography, business etiquette, and marketing yourself.
Many people attend a course of this nature because they are interested in dancing better themselves as well as teaching. This is why we spent equal amounts of time training them as dancers as well as professional teachers.
Everyday I could see the improvement with the turning and technique and special exercises the ladies practiced every morning. Their confidence level also built up so that each were starting to teach with more clarity and self assurance.
The last week was a special one. Each taught a lesson which was videotaped. We all sat down and critiqued each other's performance. Overall the girls had a great time and each also thought the time had flown and wished that we had more time together.
We wrote down our goals and talked about suggestions for future courses. We had our farewell party at the Conga Room in Los Angeles, where we danced the night away.
