Dancing is a way of life for me, my career, and my God-given gift to share with the world
I began formal dance training at age 7 at Maxine’s School of Dance in Toronto. I took ballet and jazz classes also at Brian Foley's dance Studio in Toronto, and then was a Dance Major at York University, Toronto where I attained a Bachelors Degree (four year intensive dance training including daily ballet and modern dance classes).
I feel a variety of feelings when dancing depending on the person I am dancing with and the music and the location. At the low end of the scale, I feel good just swaying my body to the beat of the music, at the highest level of enjoyment or “ecstasy”, I feel an incredible rush of energy, excitement, thrill, freedom of expression, a great physical connection to my partner and an incredible feeling of fulfillment.
I
don’t understand what you mean by this question.
Do you mean what do I care about most with my dancing or watching others?
In general, I would have to say: The degree to which it appeals to my
sense of aesthetics.
I answered it above, however, I am always learning, everyday, every time I watch dance, every time I practice.
This is a tough question because I have always loved dance and couldn't imagine doing anything else. However, I do love sharing knowledge, insight or inspiration with others so that they could live happier, more fulfilling lives. This sharing could be in the form of writing, music, creating, speaking or movement. Changing the world for the better is what moves me and so if I didn't dance, I can see myself being a writer, a musician, an artist, a public speaker, or a movement therapist.
I feel that I contribute to opening up the world of dance to many people by inspiring them through my performances and passion and encouraging them that they can do it.
Dancing
has always been a part of human life, more so for some cultures than others.
However, the Latin Culture has greatly influenced society over the past
few years and more people have been getting into Salsa and Latin dances.
More and more cultures are learning and dancing Latin dances like salsa
and I see this trend to grow for a few more years because the music is so
beautiful and rich and the dance is challenging and fun.
